THE CARDS & THE LAYOUT
Using a standard 52 card French deck, shuffle the cards thoroughly and deal out ten piles in a row. Each pile has three cards. The first two cards in each pile are dealt face down, and the last card for each pile is dealt face up. The rest of the deck becomes the draw pile.
Aces are moved above the layout to begin the foundation piles as they are uncovered. The foundations should be built in ascending order according to suit beginning with the Ace and ending with the King.
Tableau columns are built in descending order alternating by color. An entire column can be picked up if its bottom card is able to be placed legally on the top card of another column. The column can also be picked up and moved to fill an empty space left behind by a missing column. Face down tableau cards cannot be moved until they are flipped over. Flip them over once they are uncovered.
To begin play, draw cards one at a time from the draw pile. They may be played on any tableau column or foundation where played legally. If the card cannot be played, discard it to the waste pile face up. The top card of the waste pile is always available to be played on the tableau or foundations. Cards from the draw and waste pile can also be used to start a new tablea column when a space in the layout is made.
The game is won when all of the cards are on the correct foundation piles. If the draw pile is depleted before you get all of the cards on the foundations, you lose.
